<p>A Non-Denominational christian church is not formally aligned with an established denomination such as Methodist and they remain autonomous. This does not preclude a standard by which these congregations can be recognized. A congregation may establish a functional denomination by mutual recognition of commonly held doctrine, policy and worship without any external oversight.</p>
